I am your Mother

Written By: Cynthia N. Sandoval

Everyday I think of you

Wondering how it would be

Sometimes I cry late in the afternoons

Just wishing you’d call to say hi.

Tell me how you are doing,

Share with me your feelings.

Let me in. Cause my texts go unnoticed.

As your mother, I always pray that you would forever be okay

and hope for nothing less, but the best, in every situation that occurs in your days.

I long to hold you. Till you get the chance to understand

For just a second, how much I really love you

and ask only that in your heart it lasts.

Lasts past the times you would get angry with me,

past the changes you seek

A mothers first love, is a son

A love that loves past all of your hearts troubles

past this worlds pain

Just know I am here son,

waiting for an opportunity,

To simply be your mommy, and one day, all you’ll ever need.

Right now, I know your growing, and loving where you are.

Just know that deep within me, I am never too far.

I will go across the distance for you,

give up lay down my life

nothing more is a treasure to me,

Than the day I became your mother. All I want is your happiness, even if it comes with this cost.

I love you.
