In my Opinion:
Have you ever sat down with yourself to look at all the important things you know you need to do in order to win at this thing called life?
I have, many times. I am glad I do. I want to share with you what mine are. These may not resonate with you, but for me, it has been crucial to feel my absolute most empowered self.
- Get adequate sleep. Most of us aren’t getting enough. Some of us may be sleeping longer, but aren’t going into deep REM (RAPID EYE MOVEMENT) sleeping. The kind that allows you feel well rested in the morning. Using a tracker has helped me to get a better understanding of how my sleeping is actually working for me and if there are changes I need to make. So try this, you’ll be happy you did, and no one likes a grouch in the morning! π
- Hydrate. Well as the saying goes, hydration, hydration and HYDRATION . We are living in a fast paced society where everything is right here and I want it right NOW> Drive thru’s and we all want that coffee from STARBUCKS. But, most of the time, before overeating, and drinking a soda, we should really just be watching how much water we are taking in daily, and if we are actually drinking enough. Doing this will keep your body and all it’s amazing organs functioning as well as they can be, making you a very well rested, and fully hydrated human being.
- Eat well. Eating well, is going to help you live longer, and aid in good digestion, but it also has alot to do with how you are sleeping. If your eating to late, not enough, eating to much, all these things play a factor on how your body is reacting and working for you throughout the day. So make it a lifestyle change and do it today. Eat better, fruits, vergetables, and start small. Make smaller food choices. Like simply choosing to cook your own breakfast instead of buying TAKE OUT from McDonalds. Plus your future older self will thank you that you cut this one out as much as possible.
- Get outside: and get moving. So, I have written about this before on my blog here, about the importance of exercise, and how good walking is for you. I will say it again. Walking is going to be your super power. When your feeling low in energy, low in your mood, constipated from a meal that you should have stopped eating after the first plate, are in high stress points in your day. Going for a simple 10-15 minute walk will give you all those things back, and more. There are plenty of Youtube videos you can watch and articles of the science backed results from walking, and I hope you consider that today. SO WALK.
- This one is arguable. But I am a firm believer in it, and that is to take your vitamins. Not fun, not delicious to do, not on your radar as most important, but, there is a huge but here. Studies have shown that we are literally walking around with deficiencies in something. SO why not be your body’s best friend, and simply take your vitamins each day, to help aid in what it is always doing for you day in and day out. It’s never a bad thing to do it. Go right now, and TAKE THEM. GO, I’LL WAIT RIGHT HERE WHEN YOUR DONE. π
- Starting your day on the right foot: This can look very different for everyone. But for me, this entitles, waking up and praying the beautiful Rosary, daily, prayers lifted to my Lord, and diving into his holy word. If I have the time, I will include reading a few lines from a devotional, and just spend a few moments to allow the Holy Spirit to fill me up with his goodness, and grace. It helps me to have discernment for my day ahead, and to approach my day knowing that whatever comes, the Lord is with me, and that I can do all things through Christ whom gives me the strength. Philippians 4:13
- Something Personal to you: So this could be a personal goal that you have. It could be to write a book, to become leaner, finish a class. Whatever your heart truly desires, first make the time for it in the morning, to complete something. It doesn’t have to be the whole the project, the whole chapter, etc, but get in and put in the time. Trust me you will feel so happy that you are taking action on apart of you first, and not feel like you have lost touch with the goals and plans you want to fufill in this life.
SO that’s it. My top 7 things, I do to allow me to becoming the best me I can me. I find that when I have got these things down the rest is overachieving. At the end of it all, it’s ultimately up to you to get up, and do the work. By the way, it’s not work, if it’s self -loving. Here’s a little hint of what my next post will be about. SO stay tuned.
Have a wonderful week.
